Is the Schneider Electric EVlink Home suitable for ERE registration?

NoNot allowed

In our assessment the Schneider Electric EVlink Home does not have an MID-certified meter. On a grid connection that is also used for other consumption, its metering does not count for ERE registration.

What does this mean for your organisation?

On a grid connection that is also used for other consumption, an MID-certified meter is required. The metering of the Schneider Electric EVlink Home does not count for ERE registration there.

If the connection or secondary allocation point is used exclusively for transport, the MID requirement does not apply. Registration based on the metering of the metered delivery point may then be possible; we assess that per situation. For households, a built-in MID meter is always required.

Frequently asked questions about the Schneider Electric EVlink Home

Does the Schneider Electric EVlink Home have an MID-certified meter?
No. In our assessment the Schneider Electric EVlink Home does not have a built-in MID-certified meter.
Can a business register EREs with the Schneider Electric EVlink Home?
Not on a grid connection that is also used for other consumption: that requires an MID-certified meter. If the connection is used exclusively for transport, the MID requirement does not apply; have that assessed per situation.
Can the Schneider Electric EVlink Home be made suitable after all?
In our assessment, no: we require an MID meter that is built into the charge point at the factory. A separate meter added to the installation does not make the Schneider Electric EVlink Home suitable. On a mixed-use connection that calls for a model with a built-in MID meter.
How do I know which variant of the Schneider Electric EVlink Home is installed?
Manufacturers sell variants under the same model name, sometimes with and sometimes without an MID meter. The rating plate and the delivery note or installation invoice provide certainty. For a portfolio, record the type number per charge point.

When the MID meter matters

Electricity delivered to transport can be registered in the Register Energy for Transport (REV) of the Dutch Emissions Authority (NEa). Every kilogram of CO2reduction yields one Emission Reduction Unit (ERE), which fuel suppliers buy to meet their obligation.

Only quantities measured at a metered delivery point may be registered: in practice the meter in the charge point. If the grid connection or secondary allocation point is not used exclusively for transport, that meter must beMID-certified. Most business sites charge on a mixed-use connection, so for them the meter in the charge point decides. For households, a built-in MID meter is always required.

The meter is one part of the file. The verifier also checks that the connection is in the name of the business in the Central Connection Register (CAR), that the kWh can be traced to the charge point, and that type number and MID certification are documented.
